Cooking and Cycling.
Cooking is fun but diets are not.
I enjoy cooking and I have cooked most of my meals for years now. I have fallen into some lazy ways instead of making breakfast I would just end up toasting some bread and throwing peanut butter and jelly on it for breakfast. I logged and weighed all of this and just the morning sandwiches were in the 1000 calloire range. I decided to swap that out a while ago and try something different for breakfast but still wanted at least a go to lazy meal. I ended up on greek yogurt with honey and some M & Ms for crunch. After weighing this out, a bowl of it comes out to about 450 calories. I wanted to try to add some photos of thing I have been eating here but they have all come out so bad looking.
I promise that greek yogurt and candy tastes good but looking at it in a bowl like that just looks so very off putting. I thought it was a bit funny how bad the photo came out of this one so why not share it and show the diet a little anyway.
The other thing I have been doing is swapping out lunch for some salad and some eggs. There is no need to put a picture of a salad here I am sure you know what lettuce in a bowl looks like but I forgot all about something when making my eggs and it is the best thing ever for eggs.
Again the photo is bad but that little ring you put into your pan before cracking your egg into the pan is the best thing ever. You can get an perfectly round egg that is just the right size for an english muffin. I do not have english muffins right now but I still enjoy using this to cook my egg as it does not run all over the pan it all stays right in that little egg circle. Yes simple things in life are sometime worth being happy over even if its somethig as silly as a little ring you cook eggs in.
As for the rest of the diet its going well I am still eating less and mostly normal again though I have not lost more weight since the last update I am not gaining weight so its okay for the moment. The summer is almost over and I have to start thinking about how I will exercise this winter and how my diet will work when its cold out and eating season is here. Though if you can not tell I am sitting here thinking about all the food in the eating season. I am able to stay on my diet becuase I will be able to have those nice things like pie, cider donuts, pastry, and what ever else I just will have to eat less of them. That is the part that is hard about dieting. I will end up having one cider donut and then it will be over for a while and I will end up eating a dozen of them and thinking to myself well its only one time. Though I know I will do it again next time I go to the farm.... It happens like that every year so I will have to focus on it not happening this year.
Cycling and other things
This week so far has been light on the cycling. I have had FAR too much work to do and Iw as not able to really go for the first half of the week. I took those days to rest the best I could even though I was up far later at night than I should have been to get work stuff done. I still have tried to get as much in as I could and made sure to get my dog out for a walk a few times as well. Overall the resting was a good thing but I ended up with some very minor knee pain when I got back on my bike yesterday. It went away after riding for about 5 miles so I am not sure what that was about but I know I am not getting younger dispite how much I might wish that to be the case. I will just have to keep an eye on my knee and make sure that I am not over doing it and causing any damage to it.
Last year in October I attempted to ride for 100 miles and came up just short of that mark. I rode all day but it was pouring rain and I did not know where I was going and planned the route out fairly poorly. I am going to try this again this year and I have last years route better planned so I know where I am going and a lot better of an idea of what to expect. I am thinking I will do it around the same time but will have a few days off and pick a day that is not raining to go. This way I can go a little bit faster and not worry so much about everything being soaken wet.
Lastly my eye is not 100 percent better still the stye was very bad this time but I can wear my contacts again so I do not have to use awful looking straps to hold my glasses in place anymore. That being said my eye still looks like there is a stye in it and it might be scarred from it as well. Only time will tell for that but I did learn to make sure to keep my eyes clean after cycling in the dust as that is what could have caused this.
I am off to try and take better photos of my food and cycling trips. Thank you very much for reading have and wonderful day!
