Feeling Awesome after a long day of exercising.

To start things off today I weighted in and got some results that I am very happy with. 168.6 LB on the scale. I wanted to confirm something funny that has been happening as well with the scale and the way it sends data to Samsung health and I was right the scale has me at 168.6 but sent 168.5 over to Samsung health. Odd .1 difference but I am not going to let that bother me I am going to just say its about the treads not about the daily numbers. This goes for another thing body fat percent on the scale is 22.5% and on Samsung it is 28.5% a difference like that had me qustion some things so I borrowed at fat monitor from a friend to see what it said and it came in at 22.8% multiple times so I think the scale is closer to the real number. I am still going to use the samsung measurements at points here to show the progress from the start, swapping outright to the closer to correct one seems wrong when I keep saying its about the trends not about the raw numbers so I want to be honest wit

Another bike ride and another week of the journey over.

 . It is the end of another week and I have been on my A game for the journey. Today I did another bike ride and though it was not as long it was much harder. Both becuase I have not given myself much time to rest and because I have been picking paths that I have not done before and this one was trails and hills and was not something I expected when I looked up the path. I thought that when I started there was a small hill and some trail with a little hill but when I got there the hill was longer and steeper than I thought and the paths hill was short but very steep and hard to climb on a bike as it was a dirt path. That being said I pushed through it and continued biking. The speed and distance is nothing impressive but getting out there and biking has been a very good thing for me to keep going and change up the surroundings. More BIke Riding even though its colder out.

I went on another bike ride today. It was a lot colder today than the other day but that was not going to stop me from going. I did a total of 16.58 miles and had an awesome time. I explored some parts of the trails that I have not seen before and I now know the end points of two of them. There is a whole network of trails in my area to explorer and it feels good to know that I have seen so much of them now. The way things are set up you do have to cross some streets to connect to the trails so there are a few stops along the way but that means its just a perfect time to rest.  This is what most of the trails looked like paved road but a little bumpy. This is perfect for my bike as it is more of a mountain bike than a road bike so bumps and things like that are fine.  The one down side of a bike that is more of a mountain bike is that it is a little slower than a road bike.   The weather this weekend was perfect. There were some drizzles of rain but for the most part the sun was shinning and it was time to get out of the house for a bike ride. Before I go on about the bike ride itself I want to address the body composition results from today. I am still the same weight and basically everything else. I don't exactly know how it is possible to go on the treadmill 5 days a week at least and still be the same weight. This includes dieting which I have been scaling out my food and i was over estimating the calories before so with out the scale I was saying my breakfast was say 500 caloires when in reality it was 350. That leads to more confusion from me as I would have assumed I would have lost 1 LB at least by now but it seems to be holding out 174-177 depending on if I drink a lot of water overnight when I wake up to pee.  Today I thought I might try something a bit different. Instead of using the Samsung Health application I used Strava this time to log the treadmill. I did not like that it was indoor run instead of treadmill work out but it seems to be the same thing. The way it worked with the watch was also different but one thing I found very helpful was the button on the watch pauses the exercise instead of bringing up the pause menu but still running the timer. This part is very helpful to me bacause I end up having to pause my treadmill often to take calls and deal with other things as they come up.  The other thing I dont quite like about strava is it does not do the breakdown as well as the Samsung app, at least the free version I don't know how the paid version is but the free one is lacking in that. My breakdown was walking at 4.0 for the first 5 minutes then run for 5 minutes and repeat. I did this for the first hour but the second hour my knee was hurting so I ended up walking at 4.0 f

Update on the Journey

I have been keeping up on the journey but the blogging has been lacking. I had stuff going on this weekend and finding the time to sit down and write has been difficult. I have been able to keep on the diet portion of things but I am not seeing weight loss at all anymore. I am not exactly sure why that is at the moment but my guess is that I am lazy logging my calories. I am not using a scale and just estimating things and I think that ends up with me eating more calories than my budget for the day. I don't really want to go overboard and scale everything out but I think I am going to get that in order so that I can see wieght loss agian. The odd thing with this is my pants are fitting better and better still so I do know that I am accomplishing my main task but to not see numbers go down is a bit upsetting even though I see progress in the waist line size. The weather is finally getting good so I think I will be able to add more things to the list very soon but for now I have been

Exercising and feeling down.

  I have been doing fairly well at keeping on track with the exercising journey but the past week has been a rough one for me. After I got to go outside and walk outside I ended up getting sick again. Being sick again is also causing me to start down a depression cycle. The holliday season of last year 2023 was a very bad time for me with sickness. The 2 days before Christmas eve I tested positive for covid and that meant that I could not see my immune compromised parents. I figured I would just see them after I was cleared of the covid and do the Christmas stuff like a week late what ever no big deal there. Then my son got sick on that week and I assumed it was covid but took him to the DR to make sure and see if there was anything we needed to do. Well it was not covid he had the Flu so yet agian not something I am willing to spread to my parents. Between the two I ended up seeing my parents in Feburary because everyone kept getting sick. Some how I was the only one that had Covid so
