Work is a mess but the journey continues.
Work has been a mess recently but the journey is going well.
Not getting into the detail becuase it does not matter but I have been very busy with work stuff and not able to focus on the blog at all. That being said things are still going well with the journey itself. I have been putting a lot of time and effort into training for the triathlon and feel like I am ready to do it. The price for signing up has increased to 200 dollars though and I was not expecting it to cost that much. It is next weekend and I am still debating on if I want to sign up for it or use that 200 dollars for something else and sign up next year when I can get early brid pricing.
Something odd with all the workouts and dieting.
I have been dieting again as my weight is starting to get back up there and I am very confused about it once again. I have been limiting myself to 2000 calories and that is slightly over the 1600 I had done when I started the journey to lose weight. The problem I am having with this is I was still losing weight last year when I was eating more than 2000 callories and exercising around the same amount. I have added swimming to my exercise rotation and yet I am not losing weight anymore. I also notice that my mid section is getting larger again and I do not know what else to do at this point to combat this. I know its only been a few weeks since going down in calories but I expected to plateau at a weight and not gain weight. I am clearly doing something wrong again and this time I am really not sure what. If you are wondering I measure all my food in grams and the ingredients for example if I am having a burger for dinner I measure the meat patty, then the bun, then the cheese, and then the ketchup.
Bike updates.
I have had the Ozark trail ridge and a charriot cart for the kids to be able to sit in for us to ride together. I recently have been noticing some issue with this set up that are going to need to be addressed. So far the Ridge has been a good bike for this but using the charriot puts a lot of extra stress on the bike and the quick release is showing problems. These problems are not something that can not be addressed for now but they are going to cause more problems if I do not address them. The quick release for the rear wheel now becomes loose over the course of a 17 mile ride. The wheel is not going to fall off loose but it does wobble in the frame. Over time this is going to break at the very least the quick release skewer and at worst the back of the frame. I have a few extra quick relase skewers from helping friends upgrade bikes and some old bikes I had so I can replace things if the break but I do not want them to break mid ride and have to figure out how to get home with a broken bike and kids in a charriot. The solutions to this are simple though. My daughter can ride a bike now so I can get one of those attachments that clamps her bike to mine and then use the charriot on my spouses bike which the lower weight of just one kid should not cause as much stress to the bike. I could also spend a lot more money and get a cargo bike where the kids can sit on the back in seats designed for hauling them around. I am fairly cheap when it comes to things but I do enjoy running errends with the kids on a bike instead of getting in a car so it might be worth it to get a used cargo bike. I am not sure what I will do about this so for now its monitoring and thinking about options.
I am off to get this weight off and think about a cargo bike! Thank you very much for reading have and wonderful day!
