Cycling with glasses is a no go for me.

I do not like cycling with glasses on.

My eye has gotten a little better since rubbing ointment in it all week but it is still puffy and not ready for me to put my contacts on. I tried to cycle with my glasses on but it was just awful. I have old glasses that are worn in well and by that I mean they fall off my face if look down. I bought some very dorky looking bands for them to keep them on my face last time I had eye issues and they worked out well for half a ride.

The problem with them aside from looking silly is once I get riding I become a sweety mess and the sweat made the rubber slippery causing them to just fall off. This means I end up focusing on not losing my glasses instead of my ride. Also aside from the whole glasses falling off issue sweat also drips on the glasses and I have to keep wiping them off. All of this just takes me out enjoying cycling. It also could be that I am trying to not touch my eye and wiping off glasses and worrying about it. Either way it has not stopped me from my journey.

Walking is enjoyable too.

Instead of cycling every morning I have been walking as well as making sure to get a few short walks at lunch. It has not resulted in nearly as much cardio as I would have liked but it has its own perks to it as well. I put on headphones and head down the trails and explore my city a bit differently. I have not gone to many places that I could not cycle to yet but there are a few areas where it would be cumbersome to cycle. I have also been looking at a good jogging path so that I can get off the treadmil and enjoy outside. I would not jog with my glasses for the same reason I hate cycling with them but I can still plan routes and such. The 2.8 mile walk is almost a perfect route for jogging with a coffee shop at the midway point so if I can find a route that is just a little bit longer I could jog a 5k outside with a small coffee break some times. I am going to end up cycling most of the time once my eye is healed up properly but a jog thrown into the mix sounds like a good time.

Less cardio and less calorie burn.

I base my numbers off of the Samsung health app and just based on the hours and number of calories I burned this week I needed to make sure to stay very focused on the diet. I have been doing much better at it than I have for a while but the weight is not really going down all that much. I am not all that worried right now as I still recall from last year that it can take a while for the scale to move and I still look and feel much better than before I started my journey. I also am not getting any fatter and I still fit in all the clothing I own with the exception of the larger size pants I bought when I was just about 200 LBS. Those pants do not fit at all unless I tighten my belt on them and then they just look awful. Either way still fitting into the work clothing I had means I am not going back to my old ways of just stitting around and eating far too much. The start of this week where I was even more strict on the diet was a bit tough as it was last week but today I felt fine and full with the restictions. Once I start cycling again I will see if that changes but I think I will be able to keep up the diet now that I do not feel as hungry with a tighter diet. I am hopping this continues and I can get back down a few LBS before the summer is over and I take up weight lifting in the winter again.

Anyway I am off to rub ointment in my eye and prepare for a walk! Thank you very much for reading have and wonderful day!
